About us

Hellefossen Wild Animals Center is a collaborative project between Østsiden JFF and Hellefossen Elveeierlag.

Thanks to a large donation from Sparebanken Øst, financial support from MD, equity and other supporters, the story of life on and along the river has been thoroughly documented.

A close collaboration with the Lærdal Visitor Center has provided access to displays at interactive stations about wild salmon and the challenges they experience.

A big thank you to Torbjørn Nielssen who has assisted with professional advice and exhibition design.

Thanks to local historian Bent Ek who has contributed information, pictures and data to the exhibition.
